negatives and positives:
negative: i have been struck down with a nasty case of teh flu :(
positive: i’ve spent the last 3 days in bed! :D
negative: i’ve spent the last 3 days in bed when i have 9837563271 things to do :(
positive: it’s given me time to blog, so i can cross 1 thing off the list! :D
negative: the entire house is a chaotic filthy mess of a pigsty due to all of the renovations currently underway :(
positive: i’m camping out in the bedroom, so i don’t have to look at it. much. tralalalala! :D
negative: while removing the radiators in the living room, in preparation for the plasterer coming… oh yes you guessed it: we cracked the pipe. on bank holiday monday. water gushed everywhere. and we don’t know any plumbers :(
positive: a couple of emergency calls later, we found a lovely plumber! he didn’t even charge us our life savings for coming to our rescue on a bank holiday! and he did an awesome job. and i am much happier now i know we know a decent plumber… he is even coming back again next week to re-hang the radiators for us :D
negative: the burst pipe has ruined our lovely turquoise carpet! saaaaad faaace :(((
positive: we will have to get rid of it! :D :D :D
negative: we have no radiators in the living room and it’s reet chilly :(
postive: we have lovely, smooth, freshly plastered walls!!! :D
…and that makes me very very happy indeed.
so here’s to looking on the bright side of things… albeit through a shivery feverish drug-addled haze!

We are living parallel lives, Sal…I’m up to my eyeballs in renovations too. So far we’ve knocked down a wall, ripped out skirting boards, installed custom shelving, uncovered a fireplace, rewired, painted painted painted…sweet Christ I’m sick of it. Godspeed you.
arrrrgh, i am feeling your pain! “sweet christ i’m sick of it” just about sums it up!!! i am currently at the painting stage (again) though which is sort of the lesser of all DIY evils..? good luck to you too! may your woes be over soon! x
